My secret for catching characters - good coffee, tea and alcohol. They get the mass-produced stuff in their rec room (it's also dry, so the alcoholics get just a little ticked off); my writing area has the good stuff. So if they need the best, they have to come out here. Then I sit them down on the couch and get them talking. In the case of Reno, I've taken to keeping a bottle of tequila on hand. That usually gets him out here.
