Fun with cooking
Yesterday I made soup, which has always been one of my favourite comfort foods. It's lambshank broth, and while it isn't quite thick enough to hold up a wooden spoon on its own, it's on the way there. For me, cooking up soup has always been one of the better things about winter, and given I'm not a fan of the season in general, that's saying a lot. There's still a lot left, despite me having had three bowls of it.
Today is rather grey. It's overcast, and threatening rain. Last night, or more likely early this morning, the heavens opened and dumped a fair old amount of water on us - enough to wake me up for a few minutes, or at least pull me into that weird never-never-land between sleep and waking properly. As a result, I've been doing lots and lots of very little at all. I keep trying to work up the enthusiasm to deal with the laundry (there's a load waiting to be hung out in the machine, and I should put one load on to wash, no matter what the weather's like) but my get up and go appears to have got up and gone on without me. I know it's just a reaction to the weather, but it's annoying all the same.
Okay, getting up and emptying the washing machine now.
