Yeah, he is. Although I've already sat through the first of the "aargh, heartbreak time" moments, when Angeal died. Nothing quite like watching a character get his heart broken into bits, and then have to grow up really really fast to do a number on one's conception of the character.
Oh, and I'm in the middle of the Junon mission, and of course when I heard about the trooper with the motion sickness, the Cloud-alarm went "bing" and yup, that was him all right, feeling bloody miserable and very sorry for himself. Then I send a level 30 Zack up against a Guard Scorpion - y'know, the monster that Cloud and Barrett between them beat when they're both about level 7 or 8... and Zack gets killed. Obviously something got tweaked in the model during those five years the boys spent in tubes in Nibelheim.
